The Jefferson County District Missionary Baptist Association was organized in 1893.  From its inception, the association has striven to fulfill its primary objective which, according to its constitution is, "to promote the union and preserve the purity of our churches within the bonds of God's Holy Word", with a concentration in three areas:  "To sustain its mission work at home and abroad", "To promote Christian Education on all levels (local, state and national", "To in no way, affect the independence of the individual churches"
