Kathleen Perkins, RN was born to Mr. Newt and Mrs. Callie Perkins.  She is the proud parent of Mrs. Kaitlyn Perkins Barham (Michael) and grandmother of Khloe M. Barham.

Educated in the Bessemer City School System, a graduate of Jess Lanier High School Class of 1977.  Further educated at Tennessee State University, University of Alabama, Bessemer State Technical College and Samford University.

Received an LPN Diploma from Bessemer State Technical College and Registered Nurse Degree from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama.

Has served over the last Forty Years as a Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse and Staff Nurse in ICU, Medical-Surgerical, and Oncology.  Certified Critical Care Nurse, Wound Care Nurse, Chemotherapy Nurse, IV Port Access Nurse.  BCLS and ACLC Certified.  Currently a Case Manager for Kindred Hospice, Birmingham, Alabama.  Most importantly, I am a child of God.  I strive to serve God everyday.  I view nursing as a call of God to serve.  Love, Care and Serve all of His children.

I am a Life Long Member of the Mount Hebron Baptist Church und the leadership of PastorTrevis Flowers.  I have served as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Sisterhood (Matron) Ministry, President of the Nurses Guild, and Member of the Mass Choir.

I am honored to serve as Jefferson County District Association Nurse's Ministry President.  I will continue to serve productively to the best of my ability.
